Chapter 13
Chapter 13

One-sentence summary: The Convocation moves on Charlie — coded threats, an attempted breach, a body left as a message — and Mathilda makes clear that staying on the island is no longer the same as being safe.
Paragraph summary
Pressure arrives. A coded message routes through a back channel; a perimeter alarm trips at one of the lagoon's outer pens; an unfamiliar drone is recovered from the surf. Somewhere on the property, a body — likely an enemy operative — turns up clean and pointed at a camera. Mathilda walks Charlie through what each of these means: this is the Lombardy Convocation announcing that they know he is on the island, that they know he has the assets, and that they are not interested in waiting. The dolphins, still officially on strike-status, take an active stance anyway — a small mercy — and Hera and Persephone spend the night on the doorstep of Charlie's room. Charlie, for the first time, sleeps badly because he is in danger, not because he is depressed.

Confidence
Medium — Convocation hostility toward Charlie is confirmed; the precise pre-Convocation provocations are inferred from "rival villains targeting" in summaries.
