Cross-character visual rules
- Grace is rendered ordinary — explicitly NOT Ryan Gosling (the film cast Gosling; we are illustrating the book)
- Rocky is locked: five legs, no eyes, gray-brown carapace, Labrador-sized, inside an amber-orange xenonite life-support sphere whenever in the Hail Mary
- Stratt is always in a tailored dark suit — a hard black silhouette in any room
- Ilyukhina and Yáo appear in two distinct modes: as living crew (in flashbacks, full color, alive faces) and as desiccated corpses strapped to medical cradles (Ch. 1, etc.). Render mode-appropriately.
